After the discovery of THE UNIVERSAL RULE OF ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION, what comes NEXT: AIDS and CANCER cure?

05 Jun

Did you ever notice somebody always answers “ How do you say this word” in ENGLISH?
Isn’t it ridiculous now that a Brazilian did THE RULE…

THE UNIVERSAL RULE OF THE ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION?
Memorizing all of 400.000 sounds of the English dictionary words would you take centuries

I’d love to see my English teacher’s face when he finds my English pronunciation’s been improved.

original title in portuguese : A REGRA UNIVERSAL DA PRONÚNCIA INGLESA, printed in Brazil – copyright 2008 – Fábio Braga de Alencar. publisher EDITORA CIÊNCIA MODERNA, Rio de Janeiro. www.lcm.com..br. E-MAIL: lcm@lcm.com.br. Buy it now for R$ 26,40 ( US$ 15 ). Use your credit card.

THIS IS A FOOL-PROOF RULE.

LETTERS
A . This vowel may represent an english prefix. LOOK: About, Around, Amass, Aware, Away, Afire. In this case A sounds uh. If you tear A apart, the word appears to be the same. OUT/ROUND/MASS/WARE/WAY/FIRE.

A. as an indefinite article. Sounding ay or uh, depending on the speed of reading it.
Fast sounds uh : He is A burglar / It A cat

A . Is a latin prefix sounding ay. LOOK : Apolitical/Apetalous/Asynchronous/Amoral
I . Vowel i in the end sounds igh. TEST YOURSELF: ANTHROPOPHAGi/ NUCLEi/Pi/RADIi/PAPYRi
U . vowel u sounds oo after J/ L/R/S/ and ew after the other consonants. But if one consonant is ending the word or two consonants come after u, vowel u sounds uh. TEST YOURSELF: PRuDENCE/JuNIOR/JuPITER/SuPER/ILLuSION// RuBBER/PLuMBER/uS
X . this consonant has two sounds. In the beginning it sounds like z of zebra. After the beginning it sounds eks. TEST YOURSELF: Xerox/Xenophobia/ Xystus////relaX/boX/anneX
GROUPS

you maintain the same sound in all words

dIET / varIETy / anxIETy / ebrIETy / notorIETy / ubIETy( ight )
Exceptions are: MOIETY maw-yet-ee and GAIETY gay-at-ee

halitOSIS / cirrhOSIS / mitOSIS / ( owe-sis )
NOTE: MITOSIS sounds my-tow-zis because when vowel O comes after I or Y, 75% of the cases letters I and Y will sound igh. IT IS NOT GREAT? IT WILL BE A CINCH TO MEMORIZE 25% REMAINING, ISN’T IT? EXAMPLES OF THIS RULE: MiCRO/HyPO/HORiZON/PiLOT/MyOPIA/BiOLOGY/…

dAY / arrAY / bAY / strAY / hAY / mAYflower / ( ay )

How do i get an answer to a decision made after World War 2 in Japan?

23 May

At the end of WW 2 there was to have been a dispute as to who would be in charge of the reconstruction era for Japan. Does anybody know why the decision was made the way it was and why General Douglas Macarthur was chosen over Admiral Chester Nimitz and others that wanted that job? Also why did General Douglas MacArthur get the honors of officiating the Japanese surrender?

Voluntary reposession after chapter 7 bankruptcy. Flat tire, cracked windshield. Can they charge me?

07 May

I just recieved my bankruptcy discharge, and I agreed to a voluntary surrender of my vehicle. It has a flat tire, a cracked windshield, it’s missing a hubcap and looks pretty dang crappy. Will they be able to charge me for the things wrong with it?
Also how long will it be before they contact me to pick it up? Or do I contact them?
Just to clarify, this vehicle was included in my bankruptcy. I was just wondering if I am to be held responsible for changes in its condition that occured with it AFTER the initial filing.

Can you change your mind after signing a divorce decree because you don’t agree to it before its final?

06 Apr

My father did not understand the terms of the division of property. The attorney also did not have him review it. He felt pushed to hurry up and make a dicision. He is 75 and does remember things. The division was totally unfair. He now wants to resind the offer. Also, the name of the investment company where his annuity is is wrong and the company will not take spouse off because their name is not mentioned in decree. Does ANYONE have experience relating to this???? Please help! What do we do, we no longer trust our attorney. Can we call the Judge?

Do you think a parent should leave an annuity after death even if it means she collects less while living?

19 Mar

I’m ready to retire after 30 years with the teacher retirement system. I can choose from different options and the standard amount is a fair amount to live on if after my death I leave nothing to my adult children. If I choose to leave an annuity for my children after my death, I would be receiving a lot less per month while I’m living. Should I be a priority or my children?
